October 2024 Update
The Venty has held up incredibly well over the past year. I still reach for it regularly thanks to its lightning-fast heat-up and powerful performance. Compared to newer portables like the Arizer Solo 3, the Venty’s vapor quality remains top-tier.
While the Solo 3’s session and on-demand modes are convenient, I prefer the Venty’s wider airflow range and boost modes for dialing in the perfect vapor. The Venty also feels more durable with its rugged plastic body versus the Solo 3’s sleeker aluminum shell.
Price-wise, the Venty is still expensive at $449, but I think it justifies the cost better than the $399 Mighty+. The Venty’s faster extraction, longer battery life, and advanced features like the real-time heat adjustments put it a notch above Storz & Bickel’s former flagship.

Unboxing and First Impressions
[P2 – The Venty and everything included in the box]
The Venty comes in Storz & Bickel’s signature packaging, similar to the Mighty+. It’s a sturdy box with a minimalist design. Inside you’ll find:
- Venty Vaporizer
- USB-C Charging Cable
- Spare Screens & O-Rings
- Filling Aid
- Cleaning Brush
- User Manual
The Venty makes a solid first impression with its premium, medical-grade build quality. The body is made of durable, heat-resistant PEEK plastic, giving it a tactical feel. It’s a handful at 6.2″ tall, 2.2″ wide, and 1.5″ deep (15.7 x 5.5 x 3.7 cm), weighing 9 oz (252 grams).
The design follows the same styling as the Mighty/Crafty, with a black plastic shell and orange accents. It’s not the sleekest look, but has that signature German industrial aesthetic. One major improvement is the Venty can stand up on its own.

The bright LED display shows current temp, battery life, and Bluetooth status. The control buttons have a nice tactile feel. I appreciate the simple interface – it’s very user-friendly and easy to operate out of the box.
Heating, Vapor Quality & Airflow
The Venty uses a newly designed mini hybrid heating system combining conduction and convection. The ceramic-coated chamber holds about 0.3 grams of ground cannabis flower, the same as the Mighty+. It’s also compatible with S&B dosing capsules for easy loading and cleaning.
The heater is insanely powerful at 140W (compared to 40W on the Mighty+). This allows the Venty to reach its max temp of 410°F (210°C) in just 20 seconds – twice as fast as most other portables. It’s almost startling how quickly it’s ready to rip.

But the real game-changer with the Venty is the adjustable airflow. A wheel below the mouthpiece lets you change the airflow resistance from a restricted draw to a wide open 20 L/min. This is the highest airflow ever in a dry herb vape.
Even more impressive, the Venty has a flowmeter that detects your draw speed and boosts the heater accordingly. This means you get consistent vapor production whether you’re sipping lightly or ripping it hard. No other portable maintains its performance like this.

The vapor quality is simply outstanding. It’s super smooth and flavorful, cooled effectively by the isolated air path and multi-stage cooling unit. The adjustable airflow lets you dial in your perfect hit, from light and tasty to thick and powerful.
With the airflow wide open, the Venty is almost effortless to draw from. The unrestricted airflow combined with the strong heater delivers monster clouds with minimal harshness. This vape just pumps out vapor.
[P6 – Picture of cloudy vapor from the Venty being exhaled by someone]
The efficient extraction and cool vapor production put the Venty in a class of its own. Storz & Bickel have really taken the vaporizer experience to the next level here. The Venty performs like a desktop vape you can take anywhere.
Battery Life & Charging
The Venty is powered by dual internal lithium-ion batteries totaling 5940mAh. Storz & Bickel claim up to 90 minutes of continuous use on a full charge. In my testing, I averaged around 12 sessions per charge, which is excellent for such a high-powered portable.
[P7 – The Venty charging via USB-C]
Charging is handled via USB-C and using the included fast charger, I was able to charge the Venty from dead to 80% in about 40 minutes like advertised. A full charge takes around 90 minutes, which is very respectable.
My only complaint is that the batteries are not user-replaceable. For a vape at this price point, I would have liked to see swappable 18650s. But the USB-C charging is convenient, and battery life is solid, so it’s not a huge issue.
Ease of Use
Using the Venty is a breeze. The controls are simple and intuitive:
- Power on/off with a single press of the orange button
- Adjust temp with the +/- buttons on the front (104-410°F / 40-210°C)
- Double-click power to engage boost mode (+27°F / 15°C)
- Double-click again for “super boost” to max temp
[P8 – Close up of the Venty’s LED display and control buttons]
The boost modes are great for kicking up the temp during a session without fiddling with the buttons too much. After 90 seconds it reverts back to your base temperature to conserve battery.
The Venty’s Boost modes just got even better with the October 2024 firmware update (1.09). In the web app, you can now enable “Permanent Boost,” which removes the 90-second timeout for Boost and Superboost temperatures.
Loading the Venty is simple. The cooling unit twists off to expose the oven, which you can load directly or with dosing capsules. The included filling tool can be used to tamp down the herbs. I found even a coarse grind and loose pack produced great results.
[P9 – Venty with cooling unit removed, showing the oven]
The Venty also features Bluetooth and a web app for further customization, but it’s totally optional. You can use the app to tweak the boost mode temps, LED brightness, haptic feedback, and more. It also displays total usage data which is nifty.
Portability
[P11 – Close-up of the Venty’s tapered body and precision-fit parts]
At 6.2″ tall and 9 oz, the Venty is a bit large for a portable. It’s not exactly discreet or pocketable unless you have big jacket pockets. This is a vape for home use or bringing in a bag, not a quick hit on the go.
That said, the Venty feels great in the hand. The tapered body is comfortable to hold, and all the parts fit together with precision. It’s built like a tank and definitely feels premium.
[P10 – The Venty being held in a hand to show scale]
While not the most portable, the Venty’s solid battery life makes up for it. I can easily get through a weekend trip without recharging, even with frequent sessions. For home and group use, the Venty is perfect.
Venty vs. Mighty+
As Storz & Bickel’s new flagship portable, the Venty naturally draws comparisons to the Mighty+. Having used both extensively, I can confidently say the Venty outperforms the Mighty+ in several key areas:
- Faster heat-up time (20 sec vs 60 sec)
- Stronger heater (140W vs 40W) for better performance
- Adjustable airflow for personalized draw resistance
- Longer battery life (~12 bowls vs ~8 bowls)
- Can stand without using the filling tool
[P12 – The Venty and Mighty+ side-by-side for size comparison]
The vapor quality is very similar between the two – both excellent. But the Venty’s faster extraction and greater airflow give it the edge for me. The Venty just feels more powerful and technologically advanced.
[P13 – Close-up of the Venty’s airflow adjustment mechanism]
That said, the Mighty+ is smaller, lighter, and less expensive at $399. If maximum portability is a priority, the Mighty+ is still a great choice. But if you want the best of the best and can handle the larger size, the Venty is worth the extra $50 in my book.
Verdict
The Storz & Bickel Venty is an outstanding dry herb vaporizer that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with a battery-powered portable. From the lightning-fast heat-up to the wide open airflow, the Venty delivers a vaping experience unlike anything else currently available.
[P14 – Beauty shot of the Venty with a visible vapor path]
The vapor quality is top-notch, balancing smoothness, flavor and potency exceptionally well. The powerful heater and cooling system work together beautifully, producing flavorful clouds even at high temps. You can really tailor the experience to your preferences with the adjustable airflow and boost modes.
[P15 – Close-up of the Venty’s cooling unit]
Battery life is excellent, with USB-C charging to get you back up and running quickly. The build quality and attention to detail are exactly what I expect from Storz & Bickel. While it may not be the most pocketable, the Venty is a joy to use at home or out and about.
My main gripes are the non-replaceable battery and plastic body at this price point. The cooling unit is also a bit fiddly to clean compared to other vapes. But these are minor complaints in the grand scheme.
[P16 – Disassembled Venty cooling unit for cleaning]
Overall, the Venty is a fantastic vaporizer that I can easily recommend to anyone looking for top-tier vapor quality and performance. Yes, it’s pricey at $449, but it delivers an unrivaled experience that feels truly next-gen. If you have the budget, the Venty is a worthy addition to any vape collection.
