Founded in 2000 by Markus Storz and Jurgen Bickel in Tuttlingen, Germany, Storz & Bickel started with a simple mission: build vaporizers to pharmaceutical standards. Their first product, the Volcano Classic, became arguably the most iconic vaporizer ever made. The balloon-bag desktop system introduced countless people to vaporization and remains in production over two decades later.

The company expanded into portables with the Mighty and Crafty in 2014, applying the same obsessive engineering to pocket-sized devices. The Mighty quickly became the benchmark against which all portable vaporizers are measured. In 2019, Canopy Growth Corporation acquired Storz & Bickel, raising questions about whether corporate ownership would dilute the brand's commitment to quality.

So far, those fears appear largely unfounded. The Mighty+ and Venty represent genuine improvements, and the company continues manufacturing in Germany with the same attention to detail. Their devices carry medical device certifications in multiple countries, a distinction few competitors can claim. The premium pricing ($250-$700) keeps them out of reach for casual users, but for those who prioritize vapor quality and device longevity, Storz & Bickel delivers.
