The AirVape Legacy Pro 2 is one of the few mid-range portables that offers both on-demand and session heating, a removable 18650 battery, and wireless charging in a single package. AirVape puts heat-up at about 15 seconds, and it handles dry cannabis and concentrates. It charges over USB-C or on a wireless pad (sold separately).
We scored it 7.9 overall, with 8.3 for vapor quality and 8.2 for value. Build quality (7.4) is its lowest score, and the clamshell lid holds ease of use to 7.5: loading and emptying loose cannabis is fiddly unless you use dosing capsules.
This 2025 update reworks the original Legacy Pro. AirVape redesigned the vapor path so a brush reaches all of it, added a magnetic screen that snaps in and out, and upgraded to a full-color display. The hybrid heating system carries over unchanged.

What's in the box
AirVape keeps the packaging simple. Inside: the Legacy Pro 2, one pre-installed 18650 3200 mAh battery, a USB-C charging cable, a concentrate pad, cleaning and loading tools, extra screens and seals, and a QR-code user manual. It covers the basics without padding.

No dosing capsules are included, which is a miss at this price point. AirVape sells 24K gold-plated capsules in a six-pack ($33) and a water pipe adapter separately. Given how much capsules improve the loading experience, they should be standard in the box.

The Legacy Pro 2 weighs 232 g and measures 11.9 cm tall, 5.2 cm wide and just 2.1 cm thick. It slips into a jeans pocket, though at 232 g, it's heavier than most portables in this price class.

AirVape swapped the original's hemp textile for a cork-matte finish with gold flake accents. The cork adds grip and insulates against heat during longer sessions. Combined with the vegan leather base, the vape feels well-crafted and intentionally designed.

Hybrid heating, two modes and Wax Mode
The Legacy Pro 2 combines conduction from its heated 24K gold-plated chamber with convection from hot air flowing through the cannabis. AirVape puts heat-up at about 15 seconds, and the vape vibrates when it reaches your set temperature. Session mode then holds that temperature for 3, 5 or 10 minutes, your choice. Hold both temperature buttons to switch modes. In on-demand mode, you hold the power button to heat, and the vape shuts itself off after 60 seconds without movement.
The full temperature range spans 100-240°C. Above 220°C, the display switches to Wax Mode for concentrates, so there's no guesswork when you fit the included concentrate pad. Our concentrates explainer covers what to load.

The first few draws deliver rich terpene flavor with clean, bright notes that stay consistent through the early-to-mid portion of each session. The glass airpath and ceramic mouthpiece keep the taste free of off-notes. A silicone gasket sits between the mouthpiece and body, a common compromise among portables at this tier.
The 0.3 g chamber handles both solo and shared sessions comfortably. With the included microdosing disk installed, capacity drops to roughly 0.2 g for more conservative loads. A medium grind with a light pack produces the best results in both modes.

AirVape Legacy Pro 2 battery life and charging
The replaceable 3200 mAh 18650 battery is one of the Legacy Pro 2's strongest practical features. With a sealed battery, a worn-out cell usually means sending the whole vape off for service. Here you just pop in a fresh AirVape cell and keep going.

AirVape rates the 3200 mAh cell at 60 to 80 minutes of use per charge, and on-demand mode stretches it further than long session runs because it only heats while you hold the button. Magnetic screens transform cleaning, but loading stays messy
The magnetic screen is the best upgrade in the Legacy Pro 2. It snaps in and out with no fumbling.

Combined with the ONEPATH vapor path, you can run a brush straight through the entire airpath from either end. For a deep clean, let the chamber cool, brush out loose residue, then open the silicone cleaning hatch to reach the airpath. Alcohol-dampened cotton swabs take care of the rest. Loading remains this vape's weakest moment. The clamshell means dropping ground cannabis into a recessed chamber behind a hinged door, and without the loading tool from the box it ends up in the hinge or on the magnetic screen. Dosing capsules fix this and keep the chamber far cleaner.
The 3-click power-on and dedicated up/down temperature buttons are intuitive for first-timers. The upgraded color display shows current and target temperatures, battery level, active mode, and session time remaining. No app is required, and none exists.

The Mighty+ 8.7 is the benchmark portable. It produces denser, more consistent vapor across an entire session thanks to its dual-cell battery system and refined cooling unit. It demands no stirring and no technique to deliver thick, satisfying clouds every time.
The Legacy Pro 2 fights back with on-demand mode (the Mighty+ is session-only), a removable battery, and wireless charging.
