The AirVape Legacy Pro 2 is one of the few mid-range portables that offers both on-demand and session heating, a removable 18650 battery, and wireless charging in a single package. It heats in as little as 7 seconds, handles dry herb and concentrates, and charges via USB-C or Qi.
This 2025 update targets the original Legacy Pro's biggest pain points. AirVape redesigned the vapor path for Q-tip access, added a magnetic screen that snaps in and out, and upgraded to a full-color display. The hybrid heating system carries over unchanged, which is the right call: vapor quality was never the original's problem.
The Legacy Pro 2 has real issues, though. A cork exterior with batch-to-batch quality inconsistencies and a polarizing clamshell lid hold it back from an unreserved recommendation. It earns a spot in our portable vaporizer rankings as a capable mid-range option, but go in with open eyes.
Everything included except the dosing capsules you'll want
AirVape keeps the packaging simple. Inside: the Legacy Pro 2, one pre-installed 18650 3200 mAh battery, USB-C charging cable, concentrate pad, cleaning brush, extra screens and seals, and a QR-code user manual.
No dosing capsules are included, which is a miss at this price point. AirVape sells 24K gold-plated capsules and a water pipe adapter separately. Given how much capsules improve the loading experience, they should be standard in the box.
Cork exterior feels solid but raises quality control questions
The Legacy Pro 2 weighs 232 g and measures 11.7 cm tall by 5.1 cm wide. It slips into a jeans pocket, though at 232 g, it's heavier than most portables in this price class.

AirVape swapped the original's hemp textile for a cork-matte finish with gold flake accents. The cork adds grip and insulates against heat during longer sessions. Combined with the vegan leather base, the device feels well-crafted and intentionally designed.
The durability concern is real. Multiple early production units show the cork bubbling or lifting at the edges, reported by owners on r/vaporents within days of unboxing. AirVape hasn't publicly addressed the issue as of May 2026. The clamshell latch, by contrast, is a genuine improvement: it locks securely, opens smoothly, and no longer flings open to scatter your AVB.
