The PAX 3 heats to temperature in 15 seconds, weighs 93 g, and fits inside a closed fist. Released in 2016, it helped bring dry herb vaporizers into the mainstream with a sleek aluminum body and Bluetooth app control at a time when most portables looked like clunky science projects.
We tested the PAX 3 against our full 2026 portable lineup. Its portability ranks among the best we've measured in any portable vape. Vapor quality, however, trails the hybrid heating alternatives that have flooded the market since its release.
For stealth-focused users who value pocket size above raw vapor performance, the PAX 3 still competes. For everyone else, the market has moved forward.
What's in the Box
The PAX 3 complete kit includes the vaporizer, a flat mouthpiece, a raised mouthpiece, a half-pack oven lid, a concentrate insert, a magnetic charging dock, and a maintenance kit with pipe cleaners and alcohol wipes. A vaporizer-only option drops the concentrate insert, half-pack lid, and raised mouthpiece.
The half-pack oven lid is worth having from day one. It reduces the chamber to roughly half the 0.35 g capacity and improves heat distribution when you're loading smaller amounts.
Aluminum build earns its 10-year warranty

The PAX 3 measures 98 × 32 × 22 mm and weighs 93 g. That makes it one of the slimmest portables we've tested, barely wider than a standard USB drive. The anodized aluminum shell comes in multiple colors and shrugs off minor drops and scratches.
The stainless steel oven sits at the bottom of the vaporizer, sealed by a magnetic lid that clicks satisfyingly into place. PAX backs the entire unit with a 10-year warranty, the longest coverage in the portable market. Multiple owners report successful warranty replacements over the years, with some cycling through 3-4 units without issue.
One consistent finding from our testing and community feedback: the vaporizer gets noticeably hot during extended sessions. The aluminum body conducts heat straight from the oven, and after 5-6 minutes of continuous use, the lower half becomes uncomfortable to hold bare-handed.
Pure conduction heating favors speed over flavor

The PAX 3 uses pure conduction heating with a stainless steel oven that holds up to 0.35 g of ground cannabis. It reaches your selected temperature in 15 seconds, which remains fast by current standards.
