VapeExperts Review of the Puffco Peak Pro
The Puffco Peak Pro is the most complete app-controlled eRig we've tested for cannabis concentrates as of May 2026. Its 3DXL ceramic chamber tracks and adjusts temperature in real time, keeping concentrates at your set point instead of overshooting and torching through material in one spike.
The Peak Pro competes for the top spot on our concentrate vaporizer rankings thanks to its combination of real-time regulation, app depth, and firmware upgradeability. Puffco now bundles the 3DXL chamber, joystick carb cap, glass bubbler, and carrying case in every kit, making this the most complete package the brand has shipped.
We timed heat-ups, counted sessions per charge, tested every preset and custom app profile, and compared vapor quality against competing eRigs. Here's what we found.

The 510 g body pairs aluminum with a sturdy glass bubbler
The Peak Pro's base is anodized aluminum with silicone accents, housing the 1300 mAh battery and Bluetooth module. At 510 g fully assembled (178 × 76 × 76 mm), it sits comfortably on a coffee table without feeling fragile, though it's too large for a pocket. Our black test unit, shot in profile below, shows how the clear glass bubbler stacks over the aluminum base in a single clean silhouette.
The glass bubbler connects securely on top and features 5 laser-cut air holes at the base. Vortex-shaped grooves inside function as a percolator, cooling vapor before it reaches your lips. At 96 g, the borosilicate glass feels thick and confidence-inspiring.
The 3DXL chamber locks into the base with a quarter turn. Puffco improved both the digital interface and the mechanical locking mechanism over the previous version, making chamber swaps quicker and more reliable. A single front button provides haptic feedback with each press, confirming every input without needing to look at the LED ring.
Whether you own the Puffco Peak Pro or are still deciding, your thoughts and questions are welcome here.

Every vaporizer we cover is bought, lived with, and tested by the same small team. Real-time temp regulation keeps concentrates at your target
The Peak Pro uses conduction heating through its 3DXL ceramic chamber, reaching the lowest preset in 20 seconds. Multiple temperature sensors inside the cup feed data to an onboard microchip that continuously adjusts power output. This real-time regulation is what separates the Peak Pro from budget eRigs that hit a target voltage and coast, letting actual temperature swing wildly with each draw.
Four button-selectable presets cover the core dabbing range: Blue (232°C), Green (260°C), Red (288°C), and White (315°C). The Puffco Connect app extends control from 204°C to 340°C in 1°C increments, letting you fine-tune for specific concentrate types like live resin, rosin, or shatter. We photographed all four LED presets side by side so you can see exactly how the light ring signals each temperature.
Intensity mode, activated by clicking the button 5 times on any preset, changes the heating algorithm to produce noticeably thicker clouds. This is separate from Boost mode (double-tap during a session for a quick temperature bump) and works as a per-preset enhancement that affects heat delivery patterns, not just the target temperature.
The 0.15 g chamber handles small to medium loads. The 3DXL design raises the intake holes higher up the chamber wall than the standard 3D chamber, keeping reclaim from creeping into the silicone gasket around the base. This translates to less buildup in hard-to-reach areas and extends cleaning intervals, preserving terpenes across sessions.
Battery powers around 30 sessions per charge
The 1300 mAh internal battery averages around 30 heating cycles per charge based on Puffco's spec and third-party testing. This comfortably outpaces most competing eRigs, including the Dr. Dabber Switch 2 at 14 sessions and the Focus V Carta 2 at 11.
Charging takes approximately 120 minutes via USB-C. Our photo below shows the cable seated in the base of our black unit on marble, the same setup we used for every recharge during testing. The Peak Pro also supports wireless Qi charging with a separate power dock (sold separately). Pass-through charging lets you dab while plugged in, and the optional Ready Mode feature in the app automatically starts heating when you lift the vape off the dock.
Single button runs 4 presets and 2 bonus modes
Single-button operation makes the Peak Pro approachable for first-time dabbers. Press once to power on, click through the 4 color-coded presets, then double-click to start heating. The vape vibrates when it reaches temperature, signaling you to start drawing. Intensity mode (5 clicks) and Boost mode (double-tap mid-session) add versatility without requiring the app.
Adjustable airflow through the joystick carb cap adds an interactive element that genuinely improves extraction. Pushing the joystick toward the chamber edges directs air to concentrate pooled in corners, while 4 intake holes ensure consistent supply. It snaps back to center on release with a satisfying tactile click. The close-up below shows the joystick and the PUFFCO branding on the atomizer ring in detail.
Cleaning requires regular attention for best results. Swab the chamber with a cotton swab after every 2-3 sessions. The glass bubbler benefits from a weekly isopropyl alcohol soak if you're a daily user. The 3DXL's raised intake holes make a noticeable difference here, keeping the base cleaner than older chamber designs. For a full walkthrough, see our eRig cleaning guide.
The app turns 4 presets into unlimited profiles
The Puffco Connect app transforms the Peak Pro from a simple 4-preset eRig into a fully customizable setup. Create profiles with specific temperature, session duration, and vapor production settings, then name them and save favorites directly to the vape for app-free access later.
The live temperature display is the standout feature. Watching the chamber's real-time reading hold steady at your target, with a countdown timer ticking, gives you confidence that concentrates aren't being wasted. You can see the live readout and the custom profile editor in our paired screenshot and studio shot below. LED color customization, usage tracking, and over-the-air firmware updates (including the post-launch Intensity mode addition) round out the software.
The app works reliably on both iOS and Android. It's entirely optional: the 4 onboard presets and button-activated modes provide a complete experience without ever pairing your phone. But once you try custom profiles dialed in for your preferred concentrate, the presets feel limiting.
How the Peak Pro compares
Three head-to-head matchups cover the eRigs most Peak Pro buyers cross-shop as of May 2026.
Peak Pro vs. Dr. Dabber Switch 2
The Dr. Dabber Switch 28.7 is VapeExperts' top-rated eRig, using induction heating with an IR temperature sensor instead of a ceramic atomizer. Its quartz insert doesn't degrade the way ceramic chambers do, eliminating replacement costs entirely. Battery life runs 12-15 sessions with a 2-year warranty.
The Peak Pro counters with a more portable form factor (510 g vs. 726 g), a deeper app ecosystem with firmware updates, and the joystick carb cap for interactive airflow. The Switch 2 is the better home rig for raw extraction quality and long-term cost of ownership. The Peak Pro wins on smart features, portability, and the breadth of its accessory ecosystem.
Peak Pro vs. Focus V Carta 2
The Focus V Carta 2 competes at a lower price with an 8-second heat-up and app control. It offers more sessions per charge (9-12) and reaches dabbing temperature faster than the Peak Pro.
The Peak Pro's 3DXL chamber maintains more consistent temperature throughout a session, producing better flavor preservation on back-to-back draws. The Carta 2's quartz chamber also degrades over months and requires periodic replacement, adding ongoing cost. For pure vapor quality and session consistency, the Peak Pro justifies the price difference.
Note: Focus V discontinued the Carta 2 in July 2025. The Carta Sport carries forward the same Intelli-Core atomizer and app platform at a lower price.
Peak Pro vs. Puffco New Peak
The Puffco New Peak7.5 costs roughly half as much and dominates on battery life at around 35 dabs per charge. It shares the same aesthetic DNA and uses a standard 3D chamber (not 3DXL). We set the Peak Pro next to the older Peak on our test table for the photo below, and the family resemblance is obvious even before you power either one on.
The trade-off is direct: no app, no Bluetooth, no firmware updates, no 1°C temperature precision. For casual users who dab a few times a week, the New Peak handles the job. For daily users who want custom profiles, real-time session data, and the larger 3DXL chamber, the Peak Pro earns the price gap. We break down every difference in our Peak Pro vs. New Peak comparison.
Who should buy the Puffco Peak Pro
Daily concentrate users who want 1°C temperature control and real-time session feedback for every dab.
Tech-forward dabbers who enjoy customizing profiles, LED animations, and receiving firmware updates through an app.
Torch rig upgraders who want quartz banger-quality vapor without the open flame, timing guesswork, or cleanup. Our guide to choosing a concentrate vape covers the full transition.
The styled shot below of our black unit among the plants makes the case looks alone can't: this is a vape built to live out on the table, not hide in a drawer.
VapeExperts verdict on the Puffco Peak Pro
The Puffco Peak Pro earns its place among the top eRigs we've tested as of May 2026. The 3DXL chamber's real-time temperature regulation, combined with the deepest app ecosystem in the category, delivers predictable and precise sessions every time. The ceramic chamber is a consumable with ongoing replacement cost, but the overall quality of the experience makes this a confident VapeExperts recommendation for serious concentrate users.
