The POTV Lobo wins, 8.6 to 7.9, and it's the one we'd buy for daily use. It leads on vapor, build, ease and value, with a bigger oven and a swappable 18650. The POTV ONE still makes sense for light users who want the smallest, cheapest way into POTV's glass.
Key differences
- Price: a $159 US list price for the Lobo, $99 for the ONE.
- Oven: about 0.2 g in the Lobo, against 0.1 to 0.15 g in the ONE.
- Heat-up: about 30 seconds on the ONE, about 40 on the Lobo.
- Battery: a replaceable 3500 mAh 18650 in the Lobo, good for 10 sessions per charge in our testing, and a built-in 1600 mAh cell in the ONE.
- Vapor path: titanium, PEEK and a glass mouthpiece on the Lobo, with no silicone in the airpath. The ONE's mouthpiece uses glass and silicone.
- Size: the ONE is slimmer (50 by 27 mm against 54 by 29 mm) and a little lighter, so it hides better in a closed fist.
- Shared: hybrid heating, 160-221°C in 1°C steps, USB-C, dosing capsules and a 2-year warranty (POTV adds a 100-day return offer on qualifying Lobo purchases).
POTV Lobo vs ONE: vapor quality
Vapor is the biggest gap between them, with the Lobo at 8.8 and the ONE at 7.4.
The Lobo extracted a full 0.2 g load evenly with no mid-session stir. After a session at 221°C, the spent cannabis came out uniformly dark brown. Flavor carries the low end around 180°C, and clouds thicken above 200°C.
The ONE gives light, flavorful draws around 180°C and thicker clouds past 200°C, but its smaller bowl needs repacking sooner. We like two 4-minute cycles on one loose load, starting at 185°C and finishing at 210°C. Side by side, the Lobo's vapor runs noticeably stronger across the whole range.
Battery and charging
We got 10 sessions per charge from the Lobo's 18650 at 198°C with 4-minute timers. When it fades, you drop in a fresh cell instead of replacing the vape. Carry a charged spare and a flat battery never ends your day.
The ONE's sealed 1600 mAh cell is listed at 6 to 8 four-minute sessions. That handles 1 to 3 sessions a day comfortably. Once the battery wears out, it goes back to POTV for service. Neither vape heats while plugged in, and both need about 90 minutes to charge. Our battery guide explains why a swappable cell pays off over years.
Size, build and daily use
The ONE wins portability, 9.0 to 8.6. Its soft-touch metal shell vanishes in a closed fist, and a button combo flips the display to match your grip. Haptic buzzes at power-on and at temperature mean you rarely look at the screen.
The Lobo leads build quality, 7.8 to 7.0, but it has quirks. Its LCD washes out in direct sunlight, and the bare aluminum shell has no grip texture. Its session timer also starts at power-on, so heat-up eats into a short timer (we ran ours at 4 minutes).
Controls, cleaning and what's in the box
Both vapes switch on with three presses of Power, and plus and minus set the temperature. The Lobo's session timer adjusts from 3 to 6 minutes, while the ONE runs 4-minute sessions. Cleaning follows the same routine: brush out the cool oven after every session, soak the screen and glass stem in isopropyl alcohol for a deep clean (keep alcohol off silicone and the shell), then let everything dry and run one empty cycle. Each box includes a dimpled glass stem, one dosing capsule, a concentrate pad and a USB-C cable.
Shared glass, different capsules
Both vapes open up POTV's glass lineup of stems, bubblers and a water pipe adapter. Each fits through its own model's attachment, so your glass carries over if you upgrade, though the dosing capsules are model-specific.
Through water, the Lobo becomes a different vape, because a bubbler takes the edge off its warmer draws above 210°C. Our water pipe guide shows the full setup step by step. The Lobo is also our swappable-battery hybrid pick in the best budget vaporizers ranking.
