Our Take on Mad Heaters

Average score across these models: 9.0/10

Mad Heaters makes the vape we reach for when we want ball vape hits away from the desk. The Tempest 2 scores 9.0/10 and is Best Overall in both our ball vape and butane rankings, with the cleanest flavor we've had from a battery-free portable, titanium parts that stayed tight through weeks of daily heat cycles, and a visual gauge that makes good sessions easy to repeat. Budget for a torch or induction heater, and give yourself 3 to 5 sessions to dial it in.

Strengths
  • No battery, no firmware, nothing to charge
  • Torch or compatible induction-heater options
  • Adjustable airflow and bowl size
  • A visual heat gauge that makes sessions repeatable
Weaknesses
  • External heat source needed
  • Heating technique takes practice
  • Hot parts need careful handling

About Mad Heaters

Mad Heaters is a UK brand built around one idea: ball vape hits from a battery-free portable. Its range covers the Tempest ball vapes, Reload storage tools and Revolve accessories, and its shipping policy says most products are made in China.

Tempest 2 uses a ball-filled heating head with adjustable airflow, a visual indicator and audible clicks. Its standard zirconia media and Grade 5 titanium parts sit alongside other materials, including the shield and steel components. The vape has no internal battery.

We tested the Tempest 2 in May 2026 with both a torch and a YLL 3.0 induction heater. The vape ships without a heat source or case, so budget for a heat source. Mad Heaters also sells bundles with a heater, Reload storage or a fitted case. The Reload 3 is the first add-on we'd get, for its magnet and storage pots.
