Vapor quality: the Volcano's clearest win
Both use Storz & Bickel's hybrid heating, which mixes hot air with heat from the chamber walls. On the Volcano, a fan pushes that air through your cannabis, so there's effectively zero draw resistance through a balloon. In our testing it fully extracts a chamber in 2 bags, where pure convection desktops need 4. It's also the faster starter, ready in about 40 seconds against roughly 60 for the Mighty+.
The Volcano scores 9.8 for vapor against 9.2 for the Mighty+, and that 9.2 is still excellent. The Mighty+ gives dense, full-flavored vapor from the first draw, with no stirring needed. Its cooling unit also delivers vapor noticeably cooler than the set temperature suggests.
Session style: balloons and tubes or a vape in your hand
A Volcano balloon fills in about 35 seconds, then you detach it and sip at your own pace. Finish each bag within 5 minutes, because terpenes condense on the bag walls after that and the vapor turns harsher. The tube offers continuous draws with the pump off, and the web app's Workflows presets automate step-up sessions.
The Mighty+ keeps things simpler, with two buttons, a display and a vibration when it's ready. Its SuperBoost shortcut adds 15°C or 30°C for 90 seconds, a quick way to finish a load. That simplicity earns it 9.0 for ease of use against 8.5 for the Volcano.
Group sessions and home use
For a room full of people, the Volcano is the easier host by a wide margin. Its 0.75 g chamber fills bag after bag without losing density, and every guest can have their own balloon. It sits at the top of our best desktop vaporizers ranking for good reason.

The Volcano does have two real drawbacks worth knowing before you buy. Its fan is audible during balloon fills, and the filling chamber uses plastic parts that flex slightly under hand pressure.
Price, power and portability
The Volcano costs $300 more, needs a wall outlet and never leaves your desk. The Mighty+ runs on two built-in 3300 mAh cells that charge over a standard USB-C cable. In our testing a full charge covers 11 sessions. With a 15 V/3 A USB-C PD charger it even runs while plugged in, dead battery or not.
At 242 g and 140 mm tall, the Mighty+ is bulky for a portable and happier in a jacket or bag than in jeans. Both score 8.0 for value, so the decision comes down to where you vape. Cleaning and upkeep
Both come apart for cleaning where it counts: the cooling unit on the Mighty+ and the filling chamber on the Volcano. On the Mighty+, brush the chamber and screens after each session and clean the cooling unit as soon as deposits show, within 7 days of its last use. Soak the cooling unit parts and screens in isopropyl alcohol for no more than 30 minutes, only wipe the cap lock, and never immerse the vape body. On the Volcano, the filling chamber parts, screens, tube and mouthpiece get the same isopropyl or warm soapy water clean, with plastic parts out of the alcohol within 30 minutes.
