Yocan entered the vaporizer market in 2013 with a clear strategy: make concentrate consumption accessible to everyone through aggressive pricing and wide distribution. While brands like Puffco were developing premium eRigs for enthusiasts, Yocan targeted the mass market with simple wax pens that anyone could afford and operate. The Evolve series became their flagship, offering functional concentrate vaping at under $30.

The strategy worked. Yocan devices became ubiquitous in smoke shops, gas stations, and online marketplaces. The Evolve Plus with its dual quartz coil became the default recommendation for anyone asking "what's the cheapest way to try concentrates?" The brand expanded into dry herb territory with devices like the Hit, though concentrates remain their core competency and primary market.

Yocan won't win awards for innovation or vapor quality, and experienced users will quickly outgrow their devices. But the brand serves an important role in the ecosystem by providing an affordable entry point. Many users who eventually graduate to Puffco Peaks or Dr. Dabber devices took their first concentrate hit from a Yocan pen. The brand understands its lane and executes within it consistently.
