One of the standout features of the ArGo is its pop-top design, which allows the glass aroma tube to be completely concealed within the device when not in use. This not only protects the glass stem but also makes the ArGo incredibly pocketable and discreet.

The ArGo features a clear OLED display and three buttons for easy operation. The display shows the current and set temperatures, as well as the battery level. The buttons provide haptic feedback, making it easy to navigate the device’s settings.

At just 3.5″ tall, 2.0″ wide, and 1.0″ deep (9cm x 5cm x 2.5cm), the ArGo is one of the most compact portable vaporizers I’ve tested. It weighs only 3.4oz (96g), making it easy to carry in a pocket or small bag without weighing you down.

Heating, Vapor Quality, and Performance

The Arizer ArGo utilizes a hybrid heating system, combining conduction and convection heat for efficient and flavorful vapor production. The ceramic oven and glass aroma tube work together to deliver smooth, tasty vapor that stays cool even during extended sessions.

To load the ArGo, simply fill the glass aroma tube with your ground dry herb, leaving a small gap at the end to prevent the material from touching the heating element. The oven holds approximately 0.15 grams of dry herb, which is perfect for solo sessions or microdosing.

The ArGo offers precise temperature control, with a range of 122-428°F (50-220°C). You can adjust the temperature in 1-degree increments using the up and down buttons on the device. I found my sweet spot to be around 380°F (193°C), which provided a balance of flavor and vapor density.

The vapor quality from the ArGo is impressive, especially considering its compact size. The first few draws are flavorful and smooth, with the vapor becoming denser and slightly warmer as the session progresses. The shorter vapor path does result in warmer vapor compared to larger devices like the Arizer Solo 2, but it’s still comfortable and not harsh.

The ArGo’s hybrid heating system ensures efficient extraction, evenly vaporizing your dry herb without the need for stirring. I found that a single oven load could provide 10-15 draws, depending on the temperature and draw duration.

One minor drawback of the ArGo is its heat-up time, which takes around 60 seconds to reach vaporizing temperatures. While this is slower than some other portable vapes, it’s a small trade-off for the device’s compact size and excellent vapor quality.

The ArGo’s draw resistance is moderate, falling somewhere between the Arizer Air Max and the Pax Plus. It’s not as free-flowing as some larger devices, but it’s still comfortable and easy to draw from.

Battery Life and Charging

The Arizer ArGo is powered by a replaceable 18650 battery, which provides around 90 minutes of continuous use on a single charge. This translates to roughly 7-8 sessions, depending on your temperature settings and session length.

The ability to swap out batteries is a huge plus, as you can easily carry a spare or two for extended trips away from a power source. The ArGo also supports pass-through charging, so you can use it while it’s plugged in, even if the battery is completely drained.

Charging the ArGo takes around 3.5 hours using the included USB charger. While this is longer than some other portable vapes, it’s a reasonable trade-off for the device’s replaceable battery system. If you want to speed up the charging process, you can invest in an external battery charger, which can charge 18650 batteries in about half the time.

The ArGo’s LED display provides a clear battery level indicator, so you always know how much power you have left. When the battery is running low, the device will display a warning message and eventually shut off to prevent damage to the battery.

Final Thoughts

The Arizer ArGo is an impressive portable vaporizer that offers a compelling combination of compact size, excellent vapor quality, and user-friendly features. Its ability to deliver smooth, flavorful vapor in such a small package sets it apart from many other portable vapes on the market.

While the ArGo may not be the fastest-heating or most powerful portable vape available, it more than makes up for these minor drawbacks with its efficient hybrid heating, precise temperature control, and replaceable battery system. The device’s pocketable size and discreet pop-top design make it an ideal choice for on-the-go vaping.

If you’re looking for a high-quality, ultra-portable dry herb vaporizer that prioritizes flavor and ease of use, the Arizer ArGo is definitely worth considering. Its impressive vapor quality, combined with Arizer’s reputation for reliability and customer support, make it a solid investment for both newcomers and experienced vape enthusiasts alike.
